Or he was just wetting his beak twice?Įither way, kid's a fucking moron and I have zero sympathies for him losing out on $374,000 because he has nobody to blame but himself. 3/26/2023 0 Comments Popit lockit danceIt is really interesting to watch, I must say. A lot of his friends do popping or locking too, or a combination of all three. My boyfriend is involved in the breakdance, or bboy as they call it, scene in our city. That was definitely a fun experience, although the breakers and lockers kind of hogged the dance floor! I distinctly remember seeing the "freeze frame" kind of dancing described in the article. There were people dancing on their hands (I later found out that was breakdancing) and doing all kind of complicated dance moves! My friends and I stayed to watch for a little while, and I'm pretty sure there were some lockers present. My friends and I stumbled on a little out of the way club in the city, and there was some crazy dancing going on in there! I think I have seen both popping and locking, although at the time I didn't realize what it was. But then again it's probably old news for you! I actually got chill bumps!Ĥ hours - I got jealous for a minute when I was reading your posts-I bet it's fun to see all the dancing. Suddenly, the music paused, and all twenty of them locked in perfect time. They were moving constantly throughout the first two minutes of a song. They are rather advanced dancers, and if I get there a few minutes early, I get to watch their routine. I take a dance class at a local health club, and the class that uses the room right before my class meets is a hip hop dance group. If you are unfamiliar with a song while watching dancers perform to it, and the music suddenly drops out in a certain spot while the dancers lock at just the right time, it can send chills up your spine. Locking can be very dramatic, especially when it occurs after a long series of fluid movements. She was on point all the way through, and she never missed a beat. Rather than collapsing on the floor, she would stand and droop her head and arms, keeping her knees slightly bent before locking. She came up with a different position for each lock. I would say that every twenty seconds or so, she had to quickly go mostly limp before locking her body into position. The song she chose incorporated frequent pauses as part of the beat. They were amazed that she handled such a difficult routine with such ease, and they wanted her skills for their team. My young cousin worked up a dance routine involving lots of lock steps to impress the cheerleading squad during her tryout. What is the correct term for the majority of their dance styles? However, they also did a lot of hitting movements that could be called popping.Īll the bands kind of danced the same during this time, and I think some of them probably had the same choreographer. They frequently froze in their movements, which I think could be called locking. I watched a lot of music videos during the late nineties when boy bands were all the rage. Their songs frequently included musical pauses, and I have a feeling that the choreographer may have played a part in helping them compose the music, since dancing was such a big part of their act. Punching the air has a more dramatic effect if you hold the punch in place during a pause, after all. In fact, they usually were followed by freezes, or locks. However, these popping motions weren’t always constant and fluid. They would throw out an arm and punch the air, or they would quickly swing out a knee in an almost violent motion. Hard hitting movements were the cornerstone of boy band dancing. They often did the two in conjunction with each other, so much so that it became their own style of dance. August 16, - I would definitely say that boy bands were the perfect example of a combination of popping and locking. Some historians and political theorists believe that the term feudalism has been deprived of specific meaning by the many ways it has been used, leading them to reject it as a useful concept for understanding society. The term feudalism has also been applied-often pejoratively-to non-Western societies where institutions and attitudes which are similar to those which existed in medieval Europe are perceived to prevail. Some have taken the feudalism analogy further, seeing feudalism (or traces of it) in places as diverse as China during the Spring and Autumn period (771-476 BCE), ancient Egypt, the Parthian Empire, feudalism in the Indian subcontinent and the Antebellum South and Jim Crow laws in the American South. Outside its European context, the concept of feudalism is often used by analogy, most often in discussions of feudal Japan under the shoguns, and sometimes in discussions of the Zagwe dynasty in medieval Ethiopia, which had some feudal characteristics (sometimes called "semifeudal"). The adjective feudal was in use by at least 1405, and the noun feudalism, now often employed in a political and propagandist context, was coined by 1771, paralleling the French féodalité.Īccording to a classic definition by François Louis Ganshof (1944), feudalism describes a set of reciprocal legal and military obligations which existed among the warrior nobility and revolved around the three key concepts of lords, vassals and fiefs, though Ganshof himself noted that his treatment was only related to the "narrow, technical, legal sense of the word".Ī broader definition, as described in Marc Bloch's Feudal Society (1939), includes not only the obligations of the warrior nobility but the obligations of all three estates of the realm: the nobility, the clergy, and those who lived off their labour, most directly the peasantry which was bound by a system of manorialism this order is often referred to as a "feudal society", echoing Bloch's usage. There is no commonly accepted modern definition of feudalism, at least among scholars. Brown's "The Tyranny of a Construct" (1974) and Susan Reynolds's Fiefs and Vassals (1994), there has been ongoing inconclusive discussion among medieval historians as to whether feudalism is a useful construct for understanding medieval society. Ī broader definition of feudalism, as described by Marc Bloch (1939), includes not only the obligations of the warrior nobility but the obligations of all three estates of the realm: the nobility, the clergy, and the peasantry, all of whom were bound by a system of manorialism this is sometimes referred to as a "feudal society". The classic definition, by François Louis Ganshof (1944), describes a set of reciprocal legal and military obligations which existed among the warrior nobility and revolved around the three key concepts of lords, vassals, and fiefs. Broadly defined, it was a way of structuring society around relationships that were derived from the holding of land in exchange for service or labour.Īlthough it is derived from the Latin word feodum or feudum (fief), which was used during the Medieval period, the term feudalism and the system which it describes were not conceived of as a formal political system by the people who lived during the Middle Ages. A medieval castle is a traditional symbol of a feudal society.įeudalism, also known as the feudal system, was the combination of the legal, economic, military, cultural and political customs that flourished in medieval Europe between the 9th and 15th centuries. 3/25/2023 0 Comments Ipack diaper backpack reviewMultifunctional: Most of these bags can be used in a variety of situations. This makes organizing your toddler travel essentials a lot easier than an ordinary backpack or diaper bag. Each year, students proudly chant the school’s fight song, which includes the lyrics: “Siphon high, squirt it out, swivel all about, let it all hang out!” The geoduck may be a bit of a joke, but it’s still a delicacy. The giant clam also inspired Evergreen State, a college in Olympia, Washington, to choose the geoduck as their mascot. That’s long enough for scientists to observe signs of climate change on the creatures’ shells. There, it can catch microscopic organisms, spurt water and eggs, and live for more than 150 years. The area’s Native American Salish tribes gave the clam its name, which derives from gweduc, meaning “dig deep” in the Lushootseed language. As the geoduck grows, it uses its tiny foot to burrow into the seafloor, leaving only its neck above ground. Chefs serve the animal both cooked and raw, often thinly sliced alongside flavorful garnishes. Farms export much of their live geoduck to upscale restaurants in Asia, but the remaining supply is prepared by area establishments. Despite the geoduck’s likeness to the “ wrinkled schlong of a deformed hippopotamus,” locals consider these hulking mollusks a prized asset to uniquely Washingtonian culture and cuisine.īy weight, geoduck is worth more than foie gras. Many characterize it as the ideal seafood: The meat is sweet and briny (without being fishy) and has a clean, snappy bite that’s much crisper than other clams. It’s the world’s largest burrowing clam, and it resides only in the coastal waters around Washington State and British Columbia. Moreover, geoduck is in the coastal area of Canada and North America. We will discuss the harvesting process further in this article. It means dig deep, basically referring to the way it gets harvested. The geoduck (pronounced “gooey-duck”) is no duck, nor is it particularly gooey. Geoduck is pronounced as gooey duck, even though it’s not related to a duck. Press your spacebar, and then you'll be able to start typing the necessary boot flags. To enter a temporary boot flag into Clover, first start your computer and wait until you reach the Clover bootloader menu, which will look something like this (aka the Unibeast menu, assuming you installed OS X that way): In contrast, the process is slightly more involved with Clover. On Chameleon/Chimera, you could enter a temporary boot flag by simply typing it directly into your computer's bootloader menu. How to use temporary boot flags on Clover Unfortunately, using boot flags on Clover requires a slightly different technique than on Chameleon/Chimera (although most of the boot flags themselves remain the same). All Hackintosh installation methods for El Capitan, including tonymacx86's ever-popular Unibeast method, now use Clover. While we've already previously discussed how to use boot flags on the Chameleon and Chimera bootloaders, which were formally the two most popular bootloaders for PCs running Mac OS X, the release of OS X El Capitan has now shifted attention onto the new and upcoming Clover bootloader. The bootloader is the program that boots Mac OS X. For those of you who don't know, boot flags are "arguments" (pieces of data that you enter) to change the way that your bootloader runs. What I can tell you, is if you do have a working Mac with installers of anything except High Sierra (haven't figured that one out yet because of a mandatory FW upgrade), you can create your own VM and start from scratch and you can figure out and learn what exactly is going on.Starting up Mac OS X for the first time on your Hackintosh can be a very tricky process, which often requires you to set special boot options through the use of boot flags. vmdk is set up or where it came from so I can't really help you from that step.

I bought Deathinitive edition anyway when it went on sale. The strongest armor to appear in the first two games, it takes until this very DLC to appear for Fury. 3 Lucrei 8:44am Was thinking perhaps it might be possible to purchase a physical copy of Darksiders II with all the DLC included and utilise a steam code from that item 4 DethMerchant2001 6:11am Well its all good anyway. Upon defeating this behemoth of an enemy you will finally be graced with the beloved Abyssal Armor. This all eventually culminates in one truly epic boss battle to put your skills to the test. This opens your arsenal up from five to nine new weapons, and I much prefer these new brutal combat options as opposed to the stock ones in the base game. The spear made of lightning is replace with a double bladed staff, the hammer with a large axe, and the broadsword with dual scythes not unlike the ones Fury’s brother Death would wield in the previous game. So, i am VERY curious to ask: a) WHAT is the mysterious missing No. 2) The actual game's folder, AFTER installation and update, contains from 1-17 different dlc packs, MINUS no 14. What is essentially flaming nunchuks, for example, are now burning claws. 1) So, GoG webpage lists 15 DLC for this game (the game page with price, reviews and description). These are not merely reskins, but will have greatly different abilities, attack speeds, and reach distances. While there's no fixed date on the DLC yet, Darksiders 3 proper is due on November 27th via Steam, GOG and Humble and will cost £45/60€/$60 for the regular edition, or £60/70€/$70 for the Deluxe version with soundtrack and (later) DLC.Of course what good is a challenge without rewards? You’ll encounter boss fights against formidable golems that – when defeated – will drop an all new weapon for their respective Hollow. Still, inevitable cliffhanger ending aside, I'm hoping that the lack of sprawling season pass announcements means that (side-quests in the DLC aside), Darksiders 3 will be a nicely self-contained adventure. As a result, you can expect to see a lot of ashen brown, fire orange and hideous character designs. Publisher THQ Nordic are calling this just the "first" DLC, although with no season pass and these two pieces included in the Deluxe edition of the game, I'm curious to see what their long-term plans (if any) are for Darksiders 3. While frequently self-serious, I will be a little disappointed if the game doesn't at least acknowledge the potential for double entendres. As reward for your monster-blatting and puzzle-solving, players can come away with some new weaponry, and the Abyssal Armour set. Käufer der Deathinitive Edition von Darksiders 2 suchen die versprochenen DLCs. Its a 100 round combat arena and the last fifteen or so are a good final challenge after NG+. If the Crucible is cheap and you enjoy the game, Id recommend getting it. You should also note that your inventory is limited to one page for each type of item. Also note that theyre level 5 items (and good until around level 10 or so), so you will most likely not be able to use them straight away. Darksiders II has a bunch of minor DLC and a few level packs. Youll get access to them once you reach the first hub, theyll be waiting in the mail. At the behest of merchant-demon Vulgrim, Fury gets to poke around his transdimensional Serpent Holes (that will never not sound filthy), which seem to be a bit infested. I dont think Darksiders I has any DLC - if it does, its minor. The second DLC bit, Keepers Of The Void sounds a bit more interesting. A return to the Crucible means that we'll hopefully be bumping into returning bonus boss Wicked K again, a very dapper British lich with a magic top hat and cane - he's past due for a whipping. It'll be interesting to see if it's deep enough to last a full arena-centric DLC. Any good gamer must have played Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak at least once in his life, we can even fully consider it as one of the best games of the genre In short, it is a must and you. Darksiders 3's combat looks a little closer to the chunky, heavyweight Zelda-inspired fights of the original, rather than Darksiders 2's more agile combo-heavy action. Is Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak a good video game Yes Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is a great video game, we are proud to have given it a rating of 88. While I appreciate the addition of an arena mode in any game with interesting combat, I am surprised that it's not a day-one release feature. The first DLC - The Crucible - has Fury return to the survival arena from Darksiders 2, while Keepers Of The Void re-purposes the Serpent Holes from the original Darksiders - formerly a fast-travel network, they're now full of puzzles, monsters and loot. Nothing to do with Brendan's horny lizard-folk, but rather one of two planned bits of DLC for the game included in the Deluxe Edition's price. Some time after Gunfire's apocalyptic hack n' slasher Darksiders 3 launches next month, whip-cracking heroine Fury gets to poke around some Serpent Holes. 3/25/2023 0 Comments Ibackup viewer whatsappSo iOS Data Backup & Restore can be the best option for you to backup all the data in your iOS device. Often, as the machine learning model is being trained, the average value of this loss is printed on the screen. criterion = nn.Cross-entropy loss at different probabilities for the correct classĬross-entropy loss is used for classification machine learning models. Which is mathematically equivalent to using CrossEntropyLoss with a model that does not use softmax activation. X = model(data) # assuming the output of the model is softmax activated That said, if you absolutely needed to for some reason, you would take the log of the outputs and provide them to NLLLoss criterion = nn.NLLLoss() Generally, you don't want to train a network that outputs softmaxed outputs for stability reasons mentioned above. If the network has a final softmax layer, how to train the network (which loss, and how)? If the goal is to just find the relative ordering or highest probability class then just apply argsort or argmax to the output directly (since softmax maintains relative ordering). If the network has a final linear layer, how to infer the probabilities per class?Īpply softmax to the output of the network to infer the probabilities per class. How to train a "standard" classification network in the best way? Conclusionīased on the above discussion the answers to your questions are 1. NLLLoss in PyTorch)ĬrossEntropyLoss(x, y) := NLLLoss(LogSoftmax(x), y)ĭue to the exponentiation in softmax, there are some computational "tricks" that make directly using CrossEntropyLoss more stable (more accurate, less likely to get NaN), than computing it in stages. Note that one_hot is a function that takes an index y, and expands it into a one-hot vector.Įquivalently you can formulate CrossEntropyLoss as a combination of LogSoftmax and negative log-likelihood loss (i.e. SpecificallyĬrossEntropyLoss(x, y) := H(one_hot(y), softmax(x)) The definition of CrossEntropyLoss in PyTorch is a combination of softmax and cross-entropy. In this case, prior to softmax, the model's goal is to produce the highest value possible for the correct label and the lowest value possible for the incorrect label. This implies that the maximum element in the input to softmax corresponds to the maximum element in the output of softmax.Ĭonsider a softmax activated model trained to minimize cross-entropy. It's important to stress the second point about relative ordering. The key thing from a practical standpoint is that softmax is a function that takes a list of unbounded values as input, and outputs a valid probability mass function with the relative ordering maintained. SoftmaxĪgain, there are some complicated statistical ways to interpret softmax that we won't discuss here. Therefore, the class that your model thinks is most likely is the class corresponding to the highest value of q. By training a system to minimize cross entropy we are telling the system that we want it to try and make the estimated distribution as close as it can to the true distribution. On the other hand, the estimated distribution (output of a model), q, generally contains some uncertainty, so the probability of any class in q will be between 0 and 1. In the context of ML classification we know the actual label of the training data, so the true/target distribution, p, has a probability of 1 for the true label and 0 elsewhere, i.e. q represents an estimated distribution, and p represents a true distribution. The key thing to pay attention to is that cross-entropy is a function that takes, as input, two probability distributions: q and p and returns a value that is minimal when q and p are equal. This is the intro text I used in grad school and I thought it did a very good job (granted I had a wonderful instructor as well). This concept is introduced pretty early on (chapter 2 I believe). From a practical standpoint it's probably not worth getting into the formal motivation of cross-entropy, though if you're interested I would recommend Elements of Information Theory by Cover and Thomas as an introductory text. Cross Entropy H(p, q)Ĭross-entropy is a function that compares two probability distributions. Once you have a grasp on these two concepts then it should be clear how they may be "correctly" used in the context of ML. I think that it's important to understand softmax and cross-entropy, at least from a practical point of view. |
